Description
VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - The Valdosta Police Department (VPD) arrested a man on May 6 for the possession of cocaine, according to a press release.
VPD said officers observed Joseph Andre Young, who had active arrest warrants against him for traffic violations, around 3:15 p.m. on May 6.
The release said Young, 43, was arrested without incident, and officers found over 4.5 grams of cocaine on his person after his arrest. They said the cocaine was packaged in a way that indicates it was intended to be sold.
Young was taken to the Lowndes County Jail. He now faces charges of possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute (felony) and possession of crack cocaine (felony) in addition to charges for his traffic violations.
VPD said Young was walking in the 900 block of South Toombs Street when he was seen by officers. He had active arrest warrants because he fled from a traffic stop, according to police.
