Description

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) — A Valdosta man pleaded guilty on Wednesday, April 8, after he pointed a loaded gun at a police officer and attempted to flee in 2024, according to the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO).

Quentin Hall, 30, now faces up to a lifetime in prison, officials said. He pleaded guilty before Senior U.S. District Judge Louis Sands on Wednesday to one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and one count of possession of a firearm in the furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, according to the USAO.

USAO said that an officer attempted to pull Hall over on Nov. 26, 2024, for a traffic violation on 7th Avenue in Moultrie. Instead of slowing, Hall reportedly entered an apartment complex and jumped out of his vehicle while it was still moving. USAO said Hall ran away holding a backpack.

An officer with the Moultrie Police Department (MPD) chased Hall, according to USAO. Hall eventually fell, pulled out a gun and pointed it at the MPD officer, officials said.

Hall then kept running, but later surrendered to officers and was taken into custody, USAO said.

After recovering the gun that officials said Hall pointed at the officer, they found that it had a round in the chamber.

Hall told officers that he blacked out when he pointed the gun at the MPD officer, according to USAO.

Officials also found several small baggies with cocaine and other drugs inside the backpack.

Hall reportedly had three prior felony convictions for drug possession and distribution: two in Colquitt County and one in Bulloch County.
