Description
ECHOLS COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — A wanted fugitive was arrested after deputies acted on a tip from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, according to Sheriff Randy Courson.
Deputies went to a home on Charles Circle on June 22 and found Christi Lynn Williams. She was taken into custody without incident.
Williams was wanted out of Colquitt County for a probation violation on an original charge of cruelty to children in the second degree, authorities said.
Investigators said they found suspected methamphetamine inside the home. That evidence has been sent to the crime lab, and Courson said additional charges could be filed after testing.
Williams was taken to the Lowndes County Jail, where she is being held on the outstanding warrant.
The sheriff thanked the GBI for the information that led to the arrest. Anyone with information about criminal activity or wanted individuals can call the Echols County Sheriff’s Office and remain anonymous.
