ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Emergency crews rescued a construction worker who fell down a trench in DeKalb County on Friday morning.
The incident happened around 8:45 a.m. near Rainbow Academy of Learning in unincorporated Decatur. Officials said the contractor was working to replace a cement manhole when he fell off his ladder, plunging deeper into the 20-foot pit.

Firefighters worked to stabilize the scene before pulling the worker, who was alert and talking to rescue crews, out at around 10 a.m. The man was taken to a trauma facility with “moderate injuries.”
