ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – Albany Police are investigating the city’s 16th homicide of the year after officers responded to a late-night call behind the Piggly Wiggly.

According to APD, Between 11:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m., officers arrived in the 1000 block of West Gordon Avenue, near the 700 block of South Slappey Boulevard, where they found an unresponsive man behind the store. The victim, identified as 20-year-old Quintravion Carter, was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers responded to a late-night call behind the Piggly WigglyCarter was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say this case adds to the four or five homicide investigations from this year that remain unsolved.
Police are asking the community to come forward if they saw anything suspicious in the area.
