ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — A man faces felony charges after escalating a road rage incident into an armed robbery, the Albany Police Department (APD) said Monday, June 15.
Albany Police allege 34-year-old Jeffery Guest held a man at gunpoint and robbed him of $2 after the victim almost caused a traffic accident by turning the wrong way onto North Madison Street on June 9.
Investigators allege the victim was from out of town and was unfamiliar that Madison Street was for one way traffic. The robbery was captured on a security camera in the victims vehicle.
Investigators used the video to capture an image of Guest’s Georgia license plate, and additional information was used to identify and arrest Guest.
APD’s Chief Michael Persley said Guest was upset that the victim almost caused an accident, escalating to the robbery. The victim’s money was returned after the arrest.

Guest is charged with the following, according to APD:
- Armed Robbery with a Firearm
- Possession of Firearm or Knife During Commission of a Crime,
- Firearm Possession by Convicted Felon
Guest is being held in the Dougherty County Jail on a $4,500 bond, officials said.
