BOSTON (TND) — Police in Massachusetts are still hoping to learn more about the whereabouts of a 33-year-old man who was accused of killing his wife.
State police said Aaron Pennington is wanted on a murder charge connection with the death of his wife, Breanne Pennington, 30.
She was shot and killed in the couple's home in Gardner on October 22, according to authorities.
WBZ on Wednesday reported that the department suspended the search for the suspect. The media outlet said state police told them the department "will continue periodic searches of the Gardner area" and "are asking neighbors to remain vigilant."
In a news release, state police urged the public to "be on the lookout for Pennington." Authorities described Pennington as a white man with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall and approximately 175 pounds.
Authorities also asked hunters asked to report suspicious activity in area woods.
Any hunters, people with trail cameras around Camp Collier, and any members of the public who see suspicious activity are asked to contact authorities," state police noted in the release. "Anyone who sees someone matching the description of Pennington is encouraged to call 911. Police are warning the public not to approach Pennington as he is believed to be armed and dangerous."
The Worcester County District Attorney's Office previously said Pennington left his home the night of the murder in a white 2013 BMW Model 320. A hunter later spotted the car in a wooded trail near Camp Collier in Gardner, according to the district attorney's office.
State police said anyone who has information about the case should call the State Police Detectives assigned to Worcester County District Attorney's Office at 508-832-9124 or Gardner Police at 978-632-5600.
