ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — College Park city councilmembers have officially appointed Michael Hicks as city manager.
Hicks had served as the interim city manager since councilmembers voted to fire then-City Manager Lindell Miller in November. She was the fourth city manager to be ousted from the role since 2022.

Hicks previously served as the city’s chief information officer (CIO) since November 2016.

Councilmembers unanimously approved Hicks’ appointment as permanent city manager on Saturday, city leaders said.
Hicks “brings more than 30 years of distinguished leadership experience” to the job, including his work as CIO, during which he led the expansion of the city’s IT operations, overseeing key initiatives such as cybersecurity enhancements, along with “cloud-based storage solutions, advanced public safety camera systems, and major telecommunications upgrades.”
College Park Mayor Bianca Motley Broom said in a statement, “I want to congratulate Mr. Hicks on his selection as City Manager. I look forward to him leading with integrity, openness, and a clear sense of accountability to the people we serve. I anticipate a collaborative work environment where our decisions are made in the light and always in the best interest of College Park residents.”
