TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) - The cyclist killed in a crash at around 6:20 a.m. on July 7 has been identified.

WALB previously reported that a red Ford Edge struck a man riding a bicycle northbound along the edge of the road.

After the crash, the Ford made a U-turn, parked on the opposite side of the road, and was hit and killed while crossing back over the highway.

The driver’s name has not been released.

Family members have identified the bicyclist as Matthew Reeves.

“For those who did respect him enough, with a heavy heart, I wanted to make sure that everybody that cared about him knew what happened. I will go all across the country if I have to,” said Chasity Barber, Matthew Reeves’ wife.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help with funeral costs. The fundraiser’s goal is $10,000. To donate, click here.

WALB’s Taylor Lewis will have more information in later shows.
