DOUGLAS, Ga. (WALB) - The family of 60-year-old Perry Michael Roundtree, who died on October 18th, is calling for justice and transparency in his death investigation.

WALB previously reported on the ongoing investigation and efforts by authorities to gather information.

Now, the family says they possess video evidence of the incident that they believe led to Roundtree’s death and have filed a formal complaint against the Douglas Police Department (DPD) and Investigator Brittany Osteen. Alleging a lack of progress in the case.

No arrests have been made at this time.

The family is pushing for the investigation to be transferred to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, with family member Chelisy Gainey stating, “Sheriff Fred Cole would have had this handled.”

WALB reached out to the Douglas Police Department for comment, but we still have not received it yet. The family says they plan to share the video publicly and want answers as the investigation continues. WALB has also inquired whether the video will be used to help solve the case.
