TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) - According to the Tift County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO), Amanda Lee, an administrator at a Tift County elementary school, was arrested on Wednesday, March 25.

Lee is the Assistant Principal of J.T. Reddick Elementary School, according to the school’s website and Lee’s LinkedIn page.

The school system said she was placed on administrative leave.

Lee faces battery and criminal trespassing charges, TCSO said.

“Lee, Amanda Bailey, 43 years of age, was arrested and charged yesterday with misdemeanor criminal trespass-family violence & misdemeanor battery-family violence (1^stoffense)."

Lee was booked into jail at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday and released on bond at 5:14 p.m., according to the TCSO.

The Chief of Communications and Community Engagement at Tift County Schools released the following statement about the arrest:

“Tift County Schools has been made aware of the arrest of one of our employees. The circumstances of this situation are not related to the staff member’s work with the school system and do not involve any students or other staff members. The individual has been placed on administrative leave.

Due to this being an ongoing investigation, the district is not at liberty to discuss any additional details at this time."

Officials said any questions regarding the investigation should be directed to the Tift County Sheriff’s Department.
