VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - Fifty Valdosta State University (VSU) students received laptop computers through a partnership with AT&T and the University System of Georgia Foundation.

The Valdosta State University Foundation says laptops were awarded to students with the greatest need, specifically, those students who had been relying on checking out devices from campus resources to complete their coursework. Through this initiative, students now have reliable, personal access to technology, which could directly impact their ability to succeed in the classroom and stay on track toward graduation.
Logan Cole, Communication & Event Project Manager for VSU Foundation said, “The excitement...seeing their faces light up, it’s a weight off their shoulders of relief. It’s one less thing they have to worry about. Because in college there are already have all these things you have to worry about, whether its, your coursework, a job, It’s really great to see them have one less thing they have to worry about.”
Cole says the foundation rewards students with various scholarships, thanks to community donors and hearing the impact of this work on students, their families, and communities makes it rewarding.

In total, this effort has supported 1,250 students across the state of Georgia.
