CAIRO Ga. (WALB) - The Grady County Sheriff’s Office arrested five people on drug-related charges following a series of operations involving the K-9 Unit, Patrol Division, and Drug Unit.

According to the sheriff’s office, Alfredo Zuniga was arrested at his residence on 10th Ave NE in Cairo after deputies executed a search warrant. Zuniga was charged with trafficking in cocaine. Several vehicles and a quantity of U.S. currency were seized during the investigation.

Ladarius Deshawn Edwards was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. Edwards was stopped during a traffic stop on Calvary Road in Cairo by a sheriff’s office K-9 unit. Crack cocaine and U.S. currency were seized.

Lamar Thomas was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of Alpha-PVP, possession of MDMA, DUI, and open container after being stopped by the Georgia State Patrol and the Grady County Sheriff’s Office on 1st Ave NE in Cairo.

Randy Walker, of Cairo, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and obstruction of a law enforcement officer after being stopped by a K-9 unit south of Cairo on Highway 111.

Jimmy Martin, of Thomas County, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, violation of the Move Over Law, driving with suspended registration, and no insurance. Martin was also identified as a wanted sex offender out of Florida. He was stopped during a traffic stop on Highway 84, east of Cairo.

The sheriff’s office said it will continue enforcement against illegal drug activity in the community.
