MACON, Ga. (WGXA) — The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department responded to an apartment fire early Sunday morning at 720 Tidewater Circle.

At around 2:58 a.m. on October 12, 2025, fire crews arrived to find a two-story apartment building heavily engulfed in flames on both levels.

Due to the intensity of the fire, crews initiated a defensive attack, deploying ladder trucks and master stream operations to bring the blaze under control. As a precaution, a nearby apartment building was evacuated to ensure the safety of residents.

Fire officials say the affected structure was unoccupied at the time of the fire and appeared to be under construction or renovation. Fortunately, no civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Division.
