Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The next 7-10 days looks unseasonably warm with no rainfall expected. Drought conditions will only worsen with no relief confidently in sight. High Fire Danger Risk will carry through the weekend and through next week. Avoid burning and make sure to keep updated on any potential burn bans issued by your local officials.

TODAY: A chilly start this morning, you might need an extra layer, just get ready to shed it heading through your morning. It won’t be quite as windy today as it has been the past couple of days. By lunchtime, temperatures will likely be pushing past 70, eventually making it into the low 80s this afternoon. Sunny skies is the story today, and it will be the case for the weekend as well.

WEEKEND: Even warmer temperatures are expected! Mornings will be cool in the mid 50s, but big warm ups in the mid 80s are expected each afternoon. No rain to spoil any outdoor plans.

NEXT WORK WEEK: Mostly sunny skies with no rainfall continues through next week. The big story is the temperatures, as next week looks to be the hottest week of the year so far. Some locations could see 90° + temperatures for multiple days from mid week through the end of next week. This would almost certainly be record tying heat, if not potentially record breaking in some cases. Overnight lows will be mild in the mid-upper 50s and maybe a few low 60s. The heat wave looks to linger through that following weekend.
