ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — [UPDATE - 6:30 p.m. June 14]: According to the city of Albany’s outage map, 1,775 customers are still without power due to Sunday’s storms.

[ORIGINAL ARTICLE]: Strong storms moved across South Georgia on Sunday, June 14, leaving more than 4,400 customers without power in the Albany area—some for more than two hours.

A live outage map showed several concentrated outage clusters around Albany, including a large outage impacting 1,098 customers, along with other outages affecting hundreds more.

Utility crews are working to restore service as conditions allow. Residents are urged to use caution if they see downed power lines, damaged trees, or debris and to treat any fallen line as energized.
