THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - An investigation is underway after a house fire in the 600 block of E. Monroe Street in Thomasville on Thursday afternoon.
According to Thomasville Fire Rescue Chief Tim Connell, the call about the fire came in at around 1:09 p.m. When crews arrived, they found heavy fire in the home, mainly at the front porch area.

Chief Connell told WALB that the occupants of the home were not inside when crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
Crews are still at the scene searching for any hot spots. He said the block is still blocked off to the public and may remain so for up to 30 minutes to an hour.
Chief Connell said it is unclear if the house was salvageable.
WALB will provide more details once they become available.
