TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) - The suspect in a deadly shooting at a Tifton car wash in 2024 has been convicted.

On Thursday, Nov. 20, District Attorney Patrick Warren announced that a jury returned a guilty verdict for Xavier Sean Ross, 34.

Ross was convicted on the following:

• Malice murder
• Felony murder
• Five counts of aggravated assault
• Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony

WALB previously reported that Brendan Burns, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene after being shot by Ross. Ross also suffered from a gunshot wound. He was treated at two hospitals before being taken to Tift County Jail.

Ross will be sentenced at the Tift County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center courtroom and imposed by Chief Superior Court Judge Bill Reinhardt.
