MACON, Ga. (WGXA) — Prosecutors in Macon-Bibb have dropped murder charges against a man accused of a 2021 deadly shooting.
According to WGXA archives, Jasirian Kwame Thomas was indicted on May 16, 2023, for the January 2021 killing of Ledarius Tremaine Clark, who was shot multiple times in the 100 block of Pansy Avenue.

On Monday, Macon-Bibb District Attorney Anita Howard's Office dropped the charges against Thomas, writing there is "no remaining competent evidence" against Thomas.
In court documents obtained by WGXA, Howard's office cites a missing key piece of evidence, misplaced by the Bibb County Sheriff's Office. A cell phone that was found at the crime scene and was reportedly the cause of an argument that led up to the deadly shooting was lost.
Additionally, the prosecution said Thomas' mother, who was a "critical" witness in the case, has since passed away.
Further, Howard's office said its investigators showed a photo lineup to multiple other witnesses that included an image of Thomas, and none of them could identify the defendant as a party to the crime.
