GEORGIA (WALB) - [WARNING: Some readers may find the details in this story disturbing] A South Georgia resident has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for attempting to sextort an Ohio teenager he met on Snapchat, threatening to share explicit images unless she sent more.
Cenobio Olguin Jr., 24, of Lenox, Georgia, was sentenced April 23 by Senior U.S. District Judge Louis Sands to 15 years in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release. Olguin pleaded guilty Jan. 27 to one count of attempted production of child pornography. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for life after his release. There is no parole in the federal system.

“Child predators targeting children online face harsh penalties, and we are unwavering in our mission to pursue offenders and safeguard children,” U.S. Attorney William R. “Will” Keyes said. Keyes added that preventing sextortion requires more than law enforcement, urging parents and caregivers to help young people recognize and report online exploitation.

Marlo Graham, special agent in charge of FBI Atlanta, said the case highlights how offenders use “fear, manipulation and threats” to exploit minors. “Sextortion is a predatory crime, and the FBI will aggressively pursue anyone who targets children online,” Graham said, encouraging families to report coercive online behavior quickly.
Court documents detail Snapchat threats
According to court documents and statements referenced in court, Olguin met a 16-year-old girl on Snapchat in 2024 and asked her to send images of herself at various stages of undress. She complied and later blocked him.
Months later, investigators said Olguin contacted her again on Snapchat and sent back the nude photos she had previously shared. He allegedly threatened to release the images to her high school friends if she did not continue sending him nude photos.
Authorities said Olguin made additional threats, including posting the images publicly on Snapchat. He also referenced another girl he claimed to have extorted, telling the victim he had sent that girl’s photos to boys at her school and ordered them to rape her.
Under the threats, the teenager sent additional nude and explicit images, court records state. Olguin allegedly warned her that if she blocked him again, removed him, reported him, or talked to police, she “knew what would happen.”
The investigation led to a search and seizure
The FBI Resident Agency in Dayton, Ohio, received a tip in December 2024 that the teenager was being sextorted. After interviewing the victim, investigators traced the case to Olguin.
A search warrant was executed on May 5, 2025, at Olguin’s Berrien County residence in the Middle District of Georgia. Agents said they found 91 images and 29 videos of child pornography on his cell phone and recovered Snapchat messages between Olguin and the teen, including the material obtained through sextortion.
The FBI Valdosta Resident Agency and the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sonja Profit prosecuted it for the government.
