GAINESVILLE, Fla. (CBS12) — A shots fired incident near the University of Florida led to a lockdown as law enforcement contained a barricaded suspect on Tuesday.
The University of Florida Alert Page said the incident occurred at 102 NW 9th Terrace, close to the main UF Human Resources Building at 903 W University Avenue.
The alert stated, "Shots fired, location is near the main UF HR Building at 903 W University Ave. Secure in place or continue to avoid area."
The alert page urged people in the vicinity to secure in place or avoid the area entirely. However, followed up stating operations are resuming as normal.
The situation remains under control by law enforcement, and further details are expected to follow.
