CORDELE, Ga. (WALB) - The Cordele Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday, Feb.28 near the area of Joe Wright Drive and 24th Avenue.

The incident was reported at approximately 11 a.m. Feb. 28.

Working alongside the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, officers located a 24-year-old male at a residence near the scene and took him into custody. The suspect has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

A firearm believed to be connected to the incident was recovered. Police said the victims were not injured.

Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
