Description
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The all-clear has been given after a “police emergency” was reported at Emory University’s campus on Friday afternoon.
An alert from the school’s safety app said the incident was at Emory Point near the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) headquarters. The public was asked to avoid the area.
On Saturday, the university said CDC security notified Emory police that a person “acting suspiciously” was on the roof of the Emory Point CVS. Emory officers and Atlanta police searched the area and found there was no “imminent threat.”
The incident is still under investigation.

Last August, a man opened fire at the CDC building from the same CVS across the street. A DeKalb County police officer who responded to the scene was shot and killed, and the suspect died by suicide, law enforcement said.
