ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — A 34-year-old man was shot and killed by his cousin, the Albany Police Department (APD) said Thursday, Feb. 26.

The deceased was identified as Dontarrius Arrington, according to APD. His cousin, 33-year-old Stanley Arrington, was reportedly identified as the suspected shooter.

APD said the shooting was the result of a verbal disagreement between the two men.

Stanley Arrington is in custody and will be charged with felony murder and possession of a firearm during certain crimes, APD said.

The shooting occurred in the 2200 block of Kirkwood Road in Albany. APD said officers responded to Kirkwood Road at about 2:36 p.m.

In addition to law enforcement officials, District Attorney Greg Edwards was also at the scene Thursday.

Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler confirmed that Dontarrius Arrington had multiple gunshot wounds.
