Warren said he will provide a copy of the indictment with the specific charges once it is returned from the Clerk’s Office.
The four defendants were previously arrested in connection with the July 24 death of Gillis.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Brown and Foster were initially arrested and charged in connection with Gillis’ death.

Butler and Britt Jr. were later arrested as the investigation continued. WALB previously reported that Britt Jr. turned himself in and faced felony murder charges in connection with the case.

Butler is charged with murder, aggravated assault, possession of firearm or knife during the commission of a crime, conspiracy to commit a felony, tampering with evidence, abandonment of a dead body and arson in the 2nddegree.
Investigators found Gillis after a vehicle was discovered burning along a Tift County roadway, according to previous reports. The GBI assisted the Tift County Sheriff’s Office with the homicide investigation.

The indictment marks the next step in the criminal proceedings against the four defendants.
Warren said more information about the specific charges will be available once the indictment is received from the Clerk’s Office.
WALB will continue to follow this case and provide updates as more information becomes available.
