ASHBURN, Ga. (WALB) - The Ashburn Department of Public Safety is searching for the suspect in a late-night shooting on June 16.

According to the release, the shooting happened in the 800 block of Old South Main Street.

The release said that between about 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., multiple gunshots were reported in that area.

Deputies with the Turner County Sheriff’s Office responded to the victim’s location, where they were told of the incident. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Officers were able to recover evidence at the scene and swiftly identified a suspect.

Ashburn Public Safety said warrants were obtained for Kemarion Newberry on two counts of aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm on or near a public highway.

“The Ashburn Department of Public Safety is committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community,” the release said.
