Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - WALB’s Chief Meteorologist Yolanda Amadeo was honored Monday, August 11 for her 30 years of working at WALB, serving Southwest Georgia through her weather reports.
Amadeo hit an impressive 30 years working at WALB in July of 2025. Those 30 years have now been recognized congressionally.

Amadeo was surprised with this honor during Aug. 11’s 6 p.m. newscast where she and our anchors Karla Heath-Sands and Greg Loyd were joined by Amadeo’s nominator, Dr. Shirley Reese, and U.S. Congressman Sanford Bishop. Rep. Bishop and Dr. Reese presented Amadeo with her award.
As a member of Congress, Rep. Bishop has the authorization to make remarks into the official record of the proceedings of the U.S. House of Representatives. He did just that to recognize and honor Amadeo’s dedication to WALB, her community and all of Southwest Georgia.

We are so proud of you, Yolanda! Congratulations from the entire WALB team.
